What you need to know about misdiagnosis of cancer or infection
Medical malpractice is essentially the failure of a medical provider to use reasonable care in treating a patient. The standard of care is a national standard. Physicians should provide the same standard of care the medical profession accepts everywhere in the same or similar circumstances. You may be a victim of malpractice if your healthcare provider did not diagnose a condition in a timely manner or neglected to perform certain tests.

You or a loved one may have suffered serious injury or life-changing circumstances due to a physician's failure to meet the standard of care. If so, you may have legal recourse.

Do I have a case?
Most types of cancer are completely curable if diagnosed early. Many types of cancer produce signs and symptoms which your doctor should recognize long before the cancer becomes incurable. Most infections, likewise, are completely curable if diagnosed and treated in time. Infection almost always produces signs and symptoms which your doctor should recognize before an infection gets out of control. Many deaths from cancer or infection are completely preventible if standard of care is met.

Each potential case which comes to our office is evaluated personally by Gregory R. Kauffman, M.D., J.D. at no cost to you. Our staff will take all steps necessary to evaluate each potential case including obtaining necessary medical records and X-rays for negligent care. Our expertise in both law and medicine allows us, in most cases, to quickly determine if you have a case that can be successfully pursued. If so, we are available to take legal action on your behalf. With assistance of local counsel, we are willing and able to represent you no matter where you live, or where the improper medical care was rendered.

What we can do for you
The primary purpose of a malpractice claim is to financially compensate you and your family for harm caused by failure to meet the standard of care. Emotional and physical pain and suffering, past and future medical and related expenses, loss of companionship and quality of life, and loss of income are generally compensible.

Gregory R. Kauffman is both an experienced attorney and an experienced, board-certified physician. He understands the complex issues in cases such as these and will work to protect your interests. Frequently, the success of medical malpractice cases depends on your attorney's ability to handle medical issues and effectively question defendant doctors and the doctors hired to support their care and treatment. Our firm's experience and reputation qualify us to win cases.
